Dalai Lama His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism known worldwide for his promotion of religious freedom, non-violence and fundamental human rights, the 14th Dalai Lama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
Karman Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman
Yemeni journalist Tawakkol Karman was the co-recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work promoting nonviolent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights during the Arab Spring in Yemen.
Alikarami Leila Alikarami
An Iranian lawyer and human rights activist, Leila Alikarami is Executive Director of the Centre for Supporters of Human Rights, founded by Shirin Ebadi, the 2003 Noble Peace Prize Laureate.
