“This time we’re going to shoot you in your face, mind your own business”.

This was just one of the threats contained in letter sent by an anonymous writer to journalists, Giuseppe Bianco and Domenico Rubio Arzano on May 26 in Arzano, near Naples. The police, who also received the letter, said that the threats are coming from the areas of organized crime (Camorra) in collusion with members of the public administration.

The two journalists have been threatened in the past, receiving envelopes containing bullets. Bianco immediately denounced the latest intimidation. Bianco and Rubio are contributors to Il Roma and work for several news websites.

“I live in a tense situation because of my job. I feel the intolerance of local politicians towards me. They treat me like a leper. In these areas journalists like me who want to go down to the facts are isolated” Bianco said. The journalist provided investigators with copies of his articles that could have contributed to the threats.

“You didn’t understand anything, sons of a bitch. Enjoy your salary and mind your business. You know what we’re talking about, you know too much. Arzano is ours: you are just small and insignificant person that have joined a game bigger than you”, the letter said.
