PEN International: Resolution on the People’s Republic of China (2018)

PEN International has for many years expressed concern about serious and sweeping restrictions on freedom of expression in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), including through resolutions adopted at its annual Congresses, most recently at its 83rd World Congress in September 2017. Charter of Independent Chinese PEN Center

Chapter One: Generals

Article 1.

This PEN Center shall be a nongovernmental, nonprofit and nonpartisan organization beyond borders based on free association of those (generalized below as the Workers of Chinese Literature) who write, edit, translate, research and publish literature work in Chinese worldwide.

Final Verdict on Qin Yongmin from the Hubei Provincial High People’s Court
